Best Buy Tracfone Smartphone

I am very disappointed in tracfone. Lot of places I could not get service including my home. When you all tracfone you have to wait then you mostlylikelytalk with someone who can barely speak English. Presently my husband and I have two tracfones with a lot of time and minutes and neither one of us can make a call. When we try to make a call a recorde message says our device ( tracfone) has been blocked from the network. After numerous calls to tracfone and talking to several representatives with each one giving a different answer to the problem, I gave up. I bought a phone and went pre-paid with Verizon. Very good decision. I would never recommend tracfone to anyone. My husband and I are left with two tracfones with time and over 5000 minutes combined.

TracFone may not win the award for the hippest cell phone carrier. But it's definitely the most unique and interesting company. And for those who still want to use an old Nokia "brick" phone and have a pay-as-you-go plan, TracFone is the best option around.

Don't despair. We've done the research and compiled a detailed list of all the best unlimited plans on the market as well as compared other providers who have a similar price point to TracFone like Consumer Cellular.

One of the best ways to save some cold hard cash on your monthly phone bill is to bundle multiple lines together. Whether you're bundling with your spouse, your kids, or a couple of your buddies, family plans can cut the cost of phone service almost in half.

The three networks that TracFone uses are AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. All three of these networks have amazing coverage, though Verizon is generally considered the best. Meanwhile, T-Mobile boasts the fastest data speeds.

Tracfone is one of the first carriers that comes to mind when it comes to prepaid plans and support for the best Android phones. Tracfone's plans trend towards the lower end with data amounts up to 8GB but thanks to its choice of SIM cards on the three major networks, just about any phone is compatible so there's no limit to what you can bring. When it comes down to it, the best phone to use with Tracfone is the Galaxy S22 Plus from Samsung thanks to its excellent network support, long-term android update support, and fantastic hardware. Still, there are tons of options for every budget if you don't want to spend that much on a phone.

The Galaxy S22 Plus is the most expensive phone on this list and while it won't fit into everyone's budgets, it is one of the best Android phones you can buy and it works great on Tracfone's network. If you get it unlocked, you can also take it with you to any other carrier if you find a better wireless plan down the line or move to an area with different service requirements. Not only that, but with updates promised until 2027, you'll be able to use this phone for a long time to come.

With such an ambitious update schedule, it's a good thing that this phone is packed with some of the best specs you can find with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a healthy 4,500mAh battery. It supports modern wireless standards with 5G including sub-6 with C-band and mmWave alongside 6GHz Wi-Fi support if you decide to upgrade to one of the best Wi-Fi 6E routers in the next few years.

The Google Pixel 6 is one of the best examples of the Android operating system with its modern Material You user interface and up-to-date software straight from Google. Google has also committed to keeping it updated for three years so you can have the latest features from Google. The hardware is powered by Google's own Tensor CPU with 8GB of RAM which delivers great performance even with this phone's 6.4-inch OLED display and 90Hz refresh rate.

On the back, there are two cameras with a 50MP main shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. These cameras work in tandem with Google's camera app that is able to process the image to create rich photos with plenty of detail in a variety of lighting conditions. This camera system can also take some of the best night photos of any phone. It's all powered by a large 4614maH battery for all-day battery life.

The fact of the matter is that you can use just about any of the best Android phones or best budget Android phones with Tracfone and if you're already happy with your unlocked phone's performance, you might be able to bring it to the carrier with just a SIM card swap. Still, getting a phone with proper 5G band support will give you the best chance of good speeds in the years to come as the carriers accelerate investment in these networks.

Overall the Galaxy S22 Plus from Samsung just ticks all of the right boxes with incredible hardware that has the power to last for years to come with software updates ensuring you'll have up-to-date security and app support into the future. It also helps with resale value if you like to upgrade a bit more often than the five years Samsung has pledged to update this phone. Don't forget you also get one of the best camera systems in the game so you'll be able to capture the most important moments in your life with confidence the shot will turn out sharp and colorful.

If you have an unlocked phone, however, you can choose whichever carrier works best where you are. So if Verizon has the best performance in your area, you can get a Straight Talk SIM card for Verizon. For the best performance and coverage, choose the carrier that has the best reception in your area.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Centura. Wifi connectivity is very reliable. Phone audio clarity is good on calls with people 400 miles away...it sounds like a land line. Basic email and texting is adequate. That's where the features stop. Load up any apps, and the thing will slow to a crawl. Most of the loaded apps will crash randomly, probably due to Android 4.0 and the processor. Photos taken indoors are useless. Photos outdoors are decent.. For $30 it is a decent for phone calls, texting and email. I paid $99 at the time, not a good phone for that price. But it was the best, I could get then. I do love the value of tracfone service in general and I'm willing to sacrifice bells and whistles to meet the monthly budget. Now I want the best there is for tracfone. Thanks for the review.

I would really appreciate someone giving a review of the best sounding tracfone. That is, a tracfone where you can hear a person very clearly who is calling. I have owned the LG Optimus Dynamic and the LG Optimus Fuel and they are both horrible. Thank you.

I have an iphone 4s. Rolled over to BYOP. It would be awesome if it worked. Had busy signal calling in and out. After 8 hours of tech support, I looked at my account at the tracfone website and saw how to check minutes. After checking found out none had rolled over like Cust svc said they had. But before this someone in cust svc had the great idea of cancelling my old phone number that I had for years (fun letting everyone know). Finally got up and running, added the 1000 text, 500 talk, and 400 data, but last week noticed it wasn't working again. Busy signal. Checked balance and EVERYTHING was 0. I counted 25 text messages in and out on my phone. Cust svc said all they saw was 0, so the best they could do was 300 min.....but it still is not working. If they could get it to work, it would be great, but it is sure a bummer when you have over 1000 min/text/data and it is all of a sudden gone and you get no help.

I have owned the Alcatel Onetouch Icon Pop for about a 1 yr now. I can not believe you rated it second. This phone is crappy. Read the reviews on it. Your internal memory is gone with adding a couple apps. You can put and SD card in which I have one. There is no way to save to the SD card .. You can not even back up the phone to the SD card. The camera is okay. All this phone is good for is making calls. Google puts so much of their stuff on it too. Alcatel says that it is tracfone's fault because they mess with the programming of the phone to put their stuff on it.. Meanwhile I spent a nice some on the phone.. If you want a calendar you have to download one. Then Google sinks all your contacts you have in google. Which for me was a lot of one time contacts.. I would not recommend this phone to anyone.

I was given an iPhone 6 (I believe it's a 6s or 6+, not sure) from a relative who was upgrading, so I bought the SIM card kit for $1 at Best Buy, transferred my service over using my tracfone on-line account, and within 15 minutes, my new phone had been activated, ready for use! It was easy, and it's so much better. Stronger signal, clearer reception, and far more functionality. The iPhone was originally designed for the Verizon network, so i didn't need to have it unlocked, just slid in the new SIM card. Yes, all my unused minutes rolled right over too.

I know this is an old post, but for anyone who may not know how this works, all the contacts from your Google account get created in your smartphone when you activate it, so it's a good idea to clean up your contacts before activating. First, to avoid those "one time contacts" change your Google account settings. Then delete any contacts that you don't want and while you are at it, you can add any missing addresses, phone numbers, etc. to the ones you are keeping. Once your contacts are the way you want them, activate your new smartphone and you will see that good contact list on your phone.

Maybe it's time to have 2 lists, "Budget phones" and "Top phones", as that $100 J7 Sky Pro at #6 looks very out of place w/ those top of the line Galaxys and iPhones. Samsung naming everything "Galaxy" with a number rafter it doens't help either. My wife and I have the J3 Luna Pro now which is ok, but I had the Samsung Galaxy Core before it and it was garbage. Getting my son the J7 Sky Pro now for $68 on Amazon w/ the $40 bonus, I've never spent more than $100 on a smartphone.

Peter, your blogs and information about new phone releases and other tips has been invaluable throughout the years.I have never had a need (nor the $) to buy an Iphone. That being said it would be nice to hear your thoughts on previously released regular Tracfones by naming the best 10 lower cost androids. My personal choice would be the Rebel which I have switched back to many times in order to try out other models. I'm not even sure which model of the 4 that I own...It's probably the 1 or 2. I know it does have TMFL which 2 of that model do not have. The Rebel has never failed me in any way. It is light to handle and the 4'5" screen is not too big or too small. Esy to carry in your pocket!!!!Anyway, thank you so much for all your promo codes for those of us can still use those precious TMFL codes!Mike/DiscoGenre@gmail.com/Neenah, WI 041b061a72
